All three shows are produced by the Northwest Art Alliance, which was founded in 1989 to showcase regional arts and crafts at the Best of the Northwest show. Since then, the organization has evolved into an ever-growing network of artists and supporters — as well as adding additional events to the annual schedule.

For over 20 years, we have been providing venues and showcases for the arts and crafts community in the northwest. We support by providing organization, funding, and promotional activities centered on the work of local crafts people via traditional exhibition venues as well as local events, such as fairs and school fundraisers. We encourage other organizations, enlist membership and provide guidance to organizers seeking to take advantage of our expertise.

Over time we have established a recognized presence within the arts and crafts community to the point where our events garner local press and public acknowledgment, and the quality of the showcase events attract artisans from many parts of the country – we’re no longer limited to the northwest, although our roots and passion are resident here. We have participants coming from as far away as the midwest, Texas, Pennsylvania, and many other locations outside our main purview.

We hope that by providing space for these events and ultimately establishing a reputation for excellence that we can overcome distance barriers and gain recognition worldwide. This year we received requests from artists in Argentina, France, and Netherlands. The world of art reaches far and wide, and as the internet permits instant messaging of our successes to be broadcast around the globe, we expect this aspect to grow – and we welcome that growth. Bringing artists together is one of our long term goals. Collaboration between people all over the world is a beautiful connection that we hope to help harvest from these events.

Expect to see the very best in Fine Arts, including photography, painting, and sculpture, as well as some of the region’s finest craftspeople working in media such as ceramics, jewelry, glass, leather, dolls, princess dresses (we have 2 of the most well known childrens dress makers who both feature amazing princess dress designs and will both be giving talks on their craft), basketry, furniture and home decor, and countless others.

Learn about other crafts-people’s skills, perhaps even make some far away friends and trade art techniques. These events are an opportunity to build a community that is far stretching.
